I found myself hinging on the existential threat to the culture and history of those defeated by Rome and it appears most of their history, language, and culture were in fact destroyed. I had always assumed all barbaric peoples were involved in the Roman conflict.

Can you tell me what other parts of Europe not affected by the Roman threat were doing during the Gallic Wars, and also, why Caesar did not press to conquer more of Europe?
