I'm an assistant at a middle school, and the teacher was having students do stations to practice "Chinese calligraphy" that looked suspiciously like English letters that have been appropriated to look "Chinese." Odd and slightly offensive as that is, it got me thinking; is there any equivalent to the 26 letter English alphabet and the Chinese pictographic language? Or even Korean, Japanese, etc.?
Hi there!
That is a pretty interesting question I have to say so myself.
This being a historically focused sub, I would suggest heading over to /r/linguistics to ask there.
Thank you!
