Hello there family,

For my graduate work this semester I'm helping a professor out with mapping out all of Buffalo Bill's various shows throughout his career. I recently ran across a snag with the city of Charitan, New York.

Buffalo Bill's and the Wild West show visited that city on 9/15/1900 and I was wondering if any of the American Historians here have heard of this place?

I ran the name through the Getty Thesaurus (http://www.getty.edu/research/tools/vocabularies/tgn/) and it wasn't able to find anything either.

Therefore, I was wondering if the hivemind might know something about this? Mostly I'm just looking for where it was located or what city it eventually developed into.
