E.g. were industries boosted by increased demands for exports? Or was it more the case that total exports remained around the same, only the Europeans had replaced previous groups in carrying the trade. Also did the Columbian exchange have a significant economic impact on India as it did on China?
With regards to the second question, the Columbian Exchange affected India greatly. The Spaniards introduced the tomato and potato through Arab and Portuguese traders which are now staples in Indian diet. Second, the introduction of tobacco affected India so greatly and so many people started using it that India developed an indigenous tobacco smoking culture known as hookah, which are among one of many Indian cultural exports to the wider world, and is/was especially popular among Arabs and Persians.
