In college I read the The Landmark Herodotus: The Histories, by Robert Strassler, and I really enjoyed it. I would like to reread the book, and likely still have it at my mom's house. I am worried that without an academic setting, it will not be as enjoyable or easy.

Can anyone else recommend an alternative translation? Would Strassler's still be enjoyable as a casual read?
