What caused so many breeds of farm animals to come from the Netherlands, England and France? Was this associated with farmers starting to operate for-profit farms selling raw materials and luxury goods?
Just as a point of order: Jersey is a dairy breed, not a beef. Also, in most of the world Holsteins and Friesian are effectively one breed, although which name they are referred to by varies.
