Is there a book which talks about the last 2000 or 6000 years or so, which explains the big moments of these previous epochs? Not in too much detail, but just enough to know for a starter what she is talking about? thanks

Could you be more specific about what you're looking for? For instance, within which region, culture, etc? Also define what you mean by "big moments" - political, meteorological, cultural, etc.
