Likely they were Social Democrats. The party that Lenin and the Bolsheviks (the 'majority') were the 'majority' of to begin with was the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party, which was a sort of big-tent party with different tendencies represented, of whom Lenin's faction was the largest (or at least, the most powerful).
