What language did Constantine the Great speak? Was vulgar Latin the prevailing spoken language in the central Balkans at tha time or some Thrakian/Illyrian dialect?

He primarily spoke Latin. He may or may not have been able to speak Thracian, but in public speeches he utilised Latin, and required a translator for Greek. However, his education took place at Diocletian's court in Nicomedia, and this would have undoubtedly have involved Greek language instruction. It's probable then that he was functionally bilingual in Greek, but Latin remained his dominant language.
