Just a heads up - baseball went back earlier than the late 19th century. It began in its modern form as we now know it in the 1840s, but had its roots in a much older game called 'Rounders' that originated in the U.K. There is also stoolball, which again, pre-dates the late 19th century. Some evidence even suggests that one of the earliest forms of modern baseball has its roots in a game played in England during the mid-18th century. Just wanted to throw that out there.
