I think it may be a gift, but I'm not quite sure. What's the best course of action for this situation?
Ignore any noises, especially anything that sounds like the Greeks you've been fighting for ten years - it is probably just a trick of the mind. Bring it inside the walls - you should probably burn it as an offering to Poseidon as thanks for saving your city at some point, but you don't need to do it right away. And in particular ignore anyone who suddenly starts speaking clever Latin phrases about Greeks and gifts.
Whatever you do, DO NOT look it in the mouth. A gift horse like this needs to be treated with respect.
The seer Casandra said it was full of Greeks but I don't think so. I mean it's obviously a gift to the gods from the Greeks to help them return home safely. So I think we should steal it and we offer it to the gods as thanks for keeping us safe and also so the Greeks will loose favor with the gods. I mean, sure, the Greeks have that crafty Odysseus with them who also stole the Palladium from our citadel, but I heard he was heading home early from the war.
Maybe it's probably a trap. Best thing is to burn it as firewood.
