There were Jews in America at the time of the Revolution. George Washington (possibly right after the war) visited and worshiped in at least a couple of synagogues (on occasion) as a gesture of friendship and respect to American Jews. (Washington himself was a professed Protestant Christian, but he didn't have strong ties to any denomination).

Also many of the Revolutionary leaders identified as being Deists; and many were Freemasons as well. Freemasonry required the belief in an all-encompassing Deity; but there was no requirement to belong to any specific religion. Deists believed in a Creator God, but they believed that the Creator was no longer active in the goings on of the Creation. This was against the mainline Protestant or Catholic Christian teachings. Many leaders who attended Churches were probably in their own opinions Deists. Some probable Deists included Franklin, Jefferson, and Madison.
