Southern Storm by Noah Andre Trudeau is an excellent book on the March to the Sea.

Grant and Sherman by Charles Bracelen Flood is a very good book about the friendship and collaboration between Grant and Sherman.

Neither is a true all inclusive biography, but they cover most of his life and go into detail on his major accomplishments and give insight into his actions
