Hello there, everyone. I've looked all over Google and have found different things. I've found stories that line up with some parts of the question but not others.. I've asked a few friends to help out and nobody can really find much. I'm hoping you guys can.

The specific question is:

"While students rode through the University of Virginia campus firing their pistols they accidentally killed a professor, which culminated in a reprimand of the entire student body by Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe. What was the name of the event?"

I've Googled around and found a few things.

• This link talks about a riot by the students and mentions that Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe met with the students to address the issue. However, it does not mention anyone being shot nor does it list a name other than "student riot of 1825." However, when Googling that nothing really comes up that strikes me as the answer.

• This second link mentions a shooting, but it doesn't mention whether the incident was an accident. It also doesn't mention anything about Jefferson and friends talking to the students. This book on the history of the university mentions his death but only briefly and makes no mention to a name of the event or anything else.

• Finally this last link mentions some shootings at the campus on page 173 (Ctrl+F "shoot"), however it doesn't mention my other points.

As I said I did try other sources such as a list of school shooting ins America and cannot see anything matching the criteria.

I'd absolutely love some help here. These questions come from a professor who is, in my opinion, prone to asking.. obnoxious questions that really have different answers depending on your view. I think its a bad habit, but he does it.
