Which Crusade? Certain Crusades had greater or lesser participation by different kingdoms and principalities. The Third Crusade, for instance, was heavily English and French, although you had the various knightly orders and contributions from the Crusader States and several other kingdoms (such as Hungary). The HRE was also supposed to have been part of the Crusade, but their troops turned around and returned home before even reaching the Holy Land after their Emperor died. In comparison, the Seventh Crusade was almost purely a French undertaking, with minimal input from anyone other than the knightly orders.
