I'm interested in Byzantine empire and they fell to Muslim/Ottoman forces.
I find it fascinating they were able to overpower Byzantium and I don't really know how they came to power over the centuries.
I've found it hard to find extensive documentaries/podcasts on non western sources.
BBC Documentary called The Ottomans: Europe's Muslim Emperors is something I highly recommend. Very well made, highlighting three main periods of the Empire in three episodes (the foundations and siege of Constantinople, Suleiman's Golden Age and the decline under Abdul Hamid II).
