Where was it found? What is the context?

According to Jørgen Jensen, Danmarks Oldtid, 2013, as cited on the online Danish National Encyclopedia, the sword is of Frankish origin, and it contains several Christian ornaments, such as pigeons and crosses.

It has been suggested that the tomb where the sword was found belonged to the Danish crown prince Harald Klak, who died around 840-50 AD. He unsuccesfully fought for the throne of Denmark, was forced into exile and in 826 he chose to be baptised by Louis the Pious, at which time he also became a vassal of the emperor. However it is believed that this christening was purely of a political nature, with the hope of becoming king of Denmark. This hope floundered and while he returned to Denmark he probably recanted on his Christian beliefs, as the tomb in question which is believed to be his, is obviously a tomb laid out according to Pagan beliefs, as it is a so called ship burial, traditionally used by pagan Nordic chieftains.
