Is the influence of Positivism in historiography strongest in Latinized cultures while Leopold Von Ranke is stronger in Germanic countries?

I was thinking about how in Cuba they tend to concentrate on Positivism and don't really talk about the influence of Von Ranke aside from during Historiography class.

This got me thinking: is Positivism more a phenenon of Latinized cultures while Von Ranke's influence is more limited to Germanic countries?

LVR's approach seems fairly positivistic to me, so can you perhaps explain the difference you are seeing?
