The official language was Serbo-Croatian and was used at all official events. Serbian, Croatian, Montenegrin and Bosnian are pretty much the same language with varying dialects. Slovenian and Macedonian, though intelligible were significantly different from the Serbo-Croat norm and were used in those regions by the people but the Serbo-Croat standard was used in all official matters.
