What was the diet on board a 17th/18th century New England trading ship?

What would the crew be eating for their meals? What would be the normal portion sizes? Beverages? How did this compare to a typical New England diet at the time? If it was a slave ship, what was likely to be fed to the enslaved people? Do we have any recipes from the time?

I'm working on an interpretive program for later this summer, and know absolutely nothing about maritime diets.
