I mean, not just the business or its commercial history, but how books where put together and sold in classical Greece, Rome, Byzantium; medieval Europe, talked about what the books were likely to be published etc,? How a book was sold, promoted? Were people more likely to learn something formally by reading or by being lectured? All that and more. I can think of a great many questions surrounding the history of the book; I haven't found any books addressing it directly. Thanks,
