Through my high school and college education I know virtually nothing about anything in central, and south American, virtually nothing on India. Hindu and eastern philosophical thought is very interesting to me. Yet, as I have found, a PhD in Hinduism is not to be found except at Oxford even in India. What I have learned about China and Japan is through a European lens and I learned how they became "westernized" through industrialization and colonization. I feel my schooling is one sided. How can I expand my knowledge base by learning about Indian history and Hinduism preferably not through a European or western lens and without a contrast to the European nations of the time period? Edx has 1 course on Hinduism, and coursera has none.
