I'm trying to figure out some things about an ancestor. I have been working on it a while. There is a lot of stuff about him, 3 books, newspapers, passages in old books about his family.

I have been writing an essay on him based on facts.

I'm thinking the "saint Simon" ship his father left Marseille on in 1753 is the same saint Simon French war vessel that disappeared in Canada around 1760 and they named the area after a ship named saint Simon that was either captured by the pursuing British or just disappeared, or possibly was in fact the first USS enterprise captured by continental navy from british and was named HMS George before that, but I could have sworn the navy history site said it was originally a French ship that the British themselves captured and named George, but now the entry about it on the navy.mil site is gone.

Anyway this guys grandson is famous is french history, Joseph Marie d'Espinassy who voted for death of king Louis xvi.

His son Michael fought in rev war also.

Michael was Joseph d'Espinassy uncle from his mom and Antoine the guy that was captain of great saint Simon was Michaels dad. I don't know the fate of Antoine only that he sailed out of Marseille in 1753 on orders from king Louis xv and he died around 1760.

Please help me figure this out. The link I posted explains a lot. The genealogy and history is proven with proof of parentage in each generation.
