I assume most Romans* were white/olive skinned.
Is there any evidence ethnically of the time they spent in Africa. I was wondering if the lighter colours of North africans had more than the climate to blame.
Not trying to start any Race drama. Am just curious if they left more behind than pottery.
*Ethnic Romans, from Italy & surroundings. I know about Roman citizenship.
Keep in mind that province of Africa was the land along the coast that formerly was Carthage.
Although there is much room for more info, there was a nice discussion of it by /u/Otter_Gone_To_Heaven and /u/ScipioAsina last year at https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/2hx0mj/were_the_carthaginians_white/
