Hello, I am about 2/3rds through it now! It helps to have some knowledge of the first World War going into it but I find it an excellent read, a lot of personal letters and cables are used to try to help you understand what the men were thinking and their reasoning for decisions, I find it easy to follow and the author does a good job of explaining relationships and situations. I don't know if it is for beginners really, but it is a great book that I would recommend to anyone who loves their history. Hope you enjoy the book!
