This is the book I'm interested in. It seems to cover the centuries I'm interested. I'm not sure if this is an academic work or what have you. Just'd like some feedback on whether this would be a good book

The oxford history is most definitely a good book to read if you are looking for an overall history of early modern Europe. We used this book for my class on early modern europe in my first bachelor year.
Hi, the one you linked is pretty solid, but there's also the more recent one from CUP.
Bear in mind though that these are textbooks, and many history departments do not accept citations from textbooks (if you plan on writing UG essays on the topic). They are purely for reference. However, they are excellent introductions to the Early Modern Period nonetheless.
I haven't read that one but the Oxford Histories are generally pretty solid textbooks. It should work to give you a general overview and then you can find specific books about aspects that interest you.
