I'm a European student studying at university in, lets say, the 13th century. How are my studies organized? Was there a concept of a "major" or is that an entirely modern concept? If the concept of majors existed, what were my choices? I've heard a little about the concept of the trivium, but what if I wanted to major in something like political science or sociology? Did they have something analogous to these concepts back then?
