Are there any historical accounts about Livia, the wife of Augustus, that support the portrayal in 'I, Claudius' as a murderous, evil, Machiavellian plotter?

I realize it is a work of fiction, but do we have any historical accounts of her from first hand sources. I read "The Twelve Caesars" and haven't found much describing her from what I remember.

Graves is pulling this image of Livia largely from Tacitus' Annals. Many of the things he has her do were insinuated by Tacitus.
