Because I've been searching for an hour now online and I can't find ANYTHING.
I stumbled on him while reading up on Richard II, and immediately became captivated by the idea of a psychotic French king. But I can't seem to find a single non-French book about him, which seems bizarre.
Can anyone provide some decent books about this historical figure in English? With links, preferably?
Charles VI figures extensively in Barbara Tuchman's A Distant Mirror, though he is not the main character. You might also enjoy the historical fiction novel In a Dark Wood Wandering by the terrific late Dutch writer, Hella Haasse. Haasse's novel is about Charles VI 's relative, Charles of Orléans, but he is an important character and the life at his court is a big part of the background.
