Hi there, I was wondering what measures Alexander took to prevent some kind of coup or take over from happening in Greece whilst he was thousands of miles away with the army? What was to stop powerful Greeks from taking over, cutting off Alexander's supplies, and taking Macedonia, or even more of Greece? Thanks!
He stationed Antipater, one of his father's close companions, in Greece to keep the area subdued (also possibly to weaken the "Philipean faction" of the Macedonian military, although that may be reading prior events from future events too much). And indeed rebellion did break out, lead by the Spartan king Agis III, which was duly crushed.
