Jews were mostly expelled from the West Bank and Jerusalem portions under Jordanian control. They were barred from visiting their holy sites, and synagogues in the Old City were destroyed and Jewish cemeteries desecrated. Jews were essentially not allowed there anymore.

Palestinians, Jordan tried to integrate. Jordan gave them citizenship, but it didn't try too hard, and kept many in refugee camps. They also attempted to educate them to give them a sense of Jordanian nationalism, but this was stymied by the growth of Palestinian fedayeen groups and their propaganda, and by Arab League and world refusal to recognize the area as Jordanian. Palestinians had the right to vote, but Palestinian groups avoided integration and attempted to launch attacks on Israel from Jordan. In some cases Jordan would arrest them upon return, though their record there was spotty and depended on their motivation or tensions with Israel at any given moment. Palestinians still relied largely on international aid whilst in Jordan, and Jordan's initial attempts at integration largely foundered.
