I was reading up on the Napoleonic Wars for the first time today and it seemed to me that the criteria needed for a conflict to be considered a world war was met. I saw many also considered the War of 1812 as an American theatre in the Napoleonic Wars, which would definitely add to the impression that it was a world war.
