I've been looking for and been unable to find Muhammad Ali's actual official primary-source correspondence with the US government regarding his selective service conscientious objector status application.

I'm most interested in his initial essay explaining why he deserved such status.

The closest thing I've been able to find is from the newspaper article Rare letter from heavyweight legend Muhammad Ali to US Army seeking exemption from Vietnam war goes up for auction for $50,000 but it only containes images of a few pages of the letter, and the letter is not the inititial request.

I have searched for various quotes in the included pages, and Google has not been able to find the text, so I'm guessing if these materials are available, they have not been OCR-ed (I'd be happy to do that and stick the results up on wikimedia commons if someone can locate scans).

If this doesn't exist, would FOIA be the way to go?

And is there a better forum than this in which to ask this question?
