My wife and I are travelling to Normandy later this year, and we would love to learn more about the activities of her grandfather's Company during the war. (Particularly, he was in the 3rd Army, 9th Infantry Division, 39th Regiment, Company E) Are there any particularly good sources that show where specific Companies were during the war, especially around D-Day? A specific source would be great, as well as one that would allow someone to track various groups.

Their book section, the memoirs in particular, might have something useful for finding E company info if you're very lucky.
