I've done some brief research, as this question interested me and this is what I have found so far. I hope this helps. It does not seem that the family has disappeared from politics or political office, they simply have not had the the public limelight that comes with a presidential campaign recently.
James Roosevelt II was a congressman who held a public office until 1965, and also acted as the DNC chair at one point (son of FDR)
James Roosevelt III is the co-chair of the Rules and Bylaws Committee for the DNC, and has been since the early 90s. He has held various other positions at various levels of the DNC. (Grandson of FDR)
Susan Roosevelt Weld (grand daughter of FDR) is married to William Floyd Weld who served a Governor of Massachusetts 91-97 and he is still engaged in politics.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Jr. attempted to run for a few offices including NY state attorney general and governor of NY, he never attained political office but did participate in politics including participation in JFK's campaign.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt III served on the Manhattan county school board form 1970-2010.
