I was re-reading "Life of a colossus" by Adrian Goldsworthy and I read a passage that spiked my curiosity.
In the chapter 4 "The Young Caesar" Adrian Goldsworthy writes that Caesar was admitted to the "college of pontiffs" (around 74 or 73BC).
It surprised me because I remember he was set on course to become Flamen Dialis, and of course years later he became Pontifx Maximus running again'st lucullus. But I never read about this admission to the college of pontiffs.
I have googled it and did not find anything online talking about it. His footnote talks about : L. Ross Taylor, ‘Caesar’s Early Career’, Classical Philology 36 (1941), pp. 113–132, esp. p.117–118.
Finally my question : Does anybody have knowledge about his on this sub and could give me more details ? Does anybody know of a primary source where I could read about it ?
