I got a helmet recently, and it's the same as any M1 except it has a shiny silver coloring. I was told it's a marine helmet. Does anyone here know anything about it?
These chrome helmets were used for ceremonial purposes and they were common. My high school in the early 1970s had a JROTC Army drill team that wore chrome helmets, and I saw many other units from other schools - including the local university ROTC drill team - wearing them.
