What do we know of the popular culture in Ancient Rome?

Edit: Yeah, that kind of stuff. I mean, a general overview of popular culture in Ancient Rome, generally in the concerto of its existence. The time after Augustus Caesar becomes Emperor and the Roman Empire is established in 27 BC is a good start. I mean, if we compare it to modern America and Britain as an analogy (Or modern Korea and Japan if you like), what do we know and see of Ancient Roman popular culture in various forms namely in the entertainment of the time? What are the documentation of such "popular culture" that survived?
