What medicine did they use to treat the black death in the 14th century?

I consistently see references to Plague Root and from what I can find that's Angelica archangelica; however, I also see that this wasn't used as medicine until the 16th century. So what medicine/herbology was used during the black death?

In my research I see references to burning herbs such as those used to protect Clement VI, this was done as a preventative measure more than procedural.
