They still happen. The exorcist needs the permission of his bishop (or religious superior, if he's not diocesan). That said, exorcism isn't seen as a "go-to" solution; it has to be pretty clearly established that the problem is actually supernatural and not, say, psychological.

Edit: Also, not all priests are exorcists. They're appointed by the bishop of the diocese and specially trained. Not every diocese has one.
