I've tried to read up on clothing as a part of human culture and its implication on our views of the civilized vs the uncivilized. Whilst doing some own research i found sources claiming that people started wearing clothes between 100.000 to 500.000 years ago and that modern humans / Homo Sapiens has been around for around 200.000 years

Does this mean that clothing might have existed longer than our own species and if so, who were the first to wear clothes? Is it even known?
