Hi I don't know if this is the right place to ask this.
Is there anyway to search for museum items from a period and a place in particular?
I mean for example, spain 12th century, and then you get a list of items that had been preserved with pictures and or the museum where they are stored and so on.
THanks for yout time.
You can search individual museum collections by setting search filters determined by the individual museum, for example the Met http://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection#!?geolocation=Spain&era=A.D.%201000-1400&sortBy=Relevance&sortOrder=asc&page=1 . Getty Images might be useful although you'll get a lot of architecture mixed in.
You will likely be very interested in Google Art Project. Hundreds of museums have placed a portion of their collections in the easily searchable database with high-res pictures and plenty of useful metadata. I frequently use it for examples in my answers here. Of course, you'll want to do some searching in the museums' own catalogs afterwards, but it's a good way to see what places have what kind of things.
