If so, it's deep wading equipment. The Sherman could still operate while almost completely submerged in water, but if water was sucked into the air intake or blocked the exhaust on the engine it could cause some obvious problems. A snorkel sort of setup was available that would allow the tank's engine to breathe even when the tank itself was almost completely underwater.
