If I am a male Native American prior to European arrival, how often was I going into battle with other tribes?

Was it monthly, yearly, once or twice a lifetime?

I know there is no single answer, each tribe was vastly different in war practices. But hopefully there is some literature on numbers for differing tribes.

That depends, in which part of the Americas are you asking about? Different people, different situations. Someone living in the Arctic would have a different experience with war than someone in Mexico, Chile, or Cuba.
