My old 'The World Wars' history professor used to work in a museum dealing with WW2 Trucks and stuff, and that's gotten me into logistics in general. I remember this one book with a picture of a truck on it but I can't remember the name...What are the best books on logistics? I've already started to read a bit up online about the Red Ball Express.
It might be helpful if you specified an era or country that you were interested in. Military logistics in the campaigns of Genghis Khan are going to be fundamentally different than in the Napoleonic wars, than in the US Civil War, than in WWI, than in WWII, than in Vietnam (whether for the US or for the Viet Cong guerrillas) than in the Gulf War, etc. etc.
