Did the silver/gold price ratio fluctuate significantly throughout history, particularly with huge finds of silver?

Hello all, I read this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/402s3i/what_was_the_purchasing_power_of_silver_gold_in/, and I was wondering, did huge silver finds that yielded thousands of tons like Potosi and the Comstock lode permanently make silver more abundant relative to gold? More generally, were there large fluctuations between the prices of silver and gold in history?

When the Phoenicians discovered the silver in Spain silver became much cheaper, while gold price stayed the same.
