I'm not sure if this is the correct subreddit for this, but I've just come across this video on facebook. Without being disrespectful, this is one of the most bizarre practices I've ever seen, and I'm just hoping that someone can explain the reasoning and history behind it. I'm really interested, but I couldn't find any explanation through google.
