Why did the Americans not produce the Sherman Firefly during WW2, despite its increased performance against the American 76mm armed Shermans? And did they come to regret the decision?
The Chieftain wrote a series of articles on this topic. The conclusion is that there is an increase in penetration, but the increased dispersion, larger breech, larger rounds, etc. weren't really worth it.
