So I've been reading about Italy during the renaissance and I'm starting to wonder if there were any fellas locking horns like say William Pitt and Charles Fox? So far it seems that there were great men without worthy opponents.
There was a metric ton of blood feuds and rivalries, but I cannot list every single one in the entire peninsula short of writing an academic dissertation. As a matter of fact, writing all the feuds in a single city could occupy a dissertation!
