I would like to share these with a historical source or something. How I've "obtained" them is my deceased grandfather used to work in the navy. He then passed them to my father, who just revealed these to me today. They're really neat b/w photos but the catch is the type on the back saying not for publication unless officially released. How May I check this?
EDIT: I found out that all of the pictures are officially released after my dad found another sheet saying all off-premises documents related to the recovery are officially released.
I would start with the Naval History and Heritage Command. http://www.history.navy.mil/about-us/contact/directory.html
They'd be able to help determine current status of the photos.
My father served on the ship that picked up the capsule after splashdown (the Hornet). I'd love to be able to show him the pictures if you find somewhere to publish them (or if you could pm me copies :))
